James.
Just got my computer back after having it in the shop for a week. I suffered severe internet withdrawal and realized looking at websites doesn’t hold a candle to reading Dashiell Hammett.

I’m finally getting my New Yorkers after changing my address from Brooklyn to Portland, back in April. Ironically, one of the first articles I read was about Oregon and the rare, wild matsutake mushrooms that grow in the Cascades. So I was excited to see them for sale at a farmer’s market yesterday (only $30 a lb. here, though they go for a fortune in Japan). It was one of those hometown pride moments. Like, ‘not only do we have G/L/A/S/S/C/A/N/D/Y, but we also have the world’s most precious wild mushrooms.’
They were pretty delicious. Here’s the slideshow.
