Here’s some various sites around New Orleans, which seemed extra surreal this year because my visit followed the path of destruction of a tropical storm named “Cindy”.
I got to spend more time on this trip than I have in the last couple of years. New Orleans is such a great town to drive around aimlessly in because it keeps getting stranger and more beautiful and mysterious. More to come…

82nd street, right before the rain.

My parents sent me this picture from the neighborhood, which shows the results of Hurricane Cindy (!). Trees were knocked down all over the city and another storm is expected this weekend.

But on to more pressing matters: So there’s this new gay cable channel called Logo. According to their website, Portland is not supposed to get it even though everyone here is gay. Yesterday, Jeremy randomly finds out that we do in fact get it! On Directtv, it’s channel 263. Great. But it’s hidden because the station’s programming doesn’t show up on the ‘guide’ channel, nor can you scroll to it with the channel button. This means that not only do I not know what they’re playing, but my Tivo can’t record anything on it because it can’t see it. Does anyone have any theories/hard facts about this, or should I just be paranoid?

Oh, and I finally set up a Flickr account here. It’s basically a random mix of everything that’s ever been on this site in one big, slow loading folder. I’m not sure how to make it work, even though it seems very simple. And I’m going to put up tons and tons of more stuff soon.
